This shot was inspired by a similar shot I saw on the internet. It was done by using a slow shutter speed and a tripod on an escalator. I really liked that shot, so I decided to try it. I would have liked the camera to be in the middle of the escalator, but liking convenience, I did not carry a tripod with me. I had to brace the camera on the rail to reduce camera shake. That's why the shot is at the side of the escalator.

Escalator rush
Not sure where I took this shot, but I remember it was somewhere in the Marina area. Could be Marina Bay.

Bridge fungus
This is another one from the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
This fungus was growing on a the bridge on one of the ends of the cool house in the orchid garden. When I saw this, I wondered what would happen if the fungus decomposed the bridge so much that it collapsed. Fortunately, that hasn't happened yet, and I hope it doesn't for a long time.

Screwed up loneliness
This is another photo from my Fort Canning Park album.
Alone. Forsaken. Abandoned. That must be how this screw feels. Walking around this area (which is in Fort Canning Park, by the way), I found no other screws present. The absence of anything else similar in the area emphasized the loneliness of this screw.

Creepy building
Bored of all those plant and animal pictures? Here's a picture for you if you are!
I snapped this building during a trip with Luke through Fort Canning Park in Singapore. It looks simply like a gateway, but if I'm not wrong, soldiers fought the war for Singapore on the roof of this small building. There is a small gate inside where people can go up to the roof. Anyway, I edited this photo by upping the blacks level to darken the detail on the walls and give them an old, dark look. Luke found this picture creepy, I have no idea why.
Hibiscus
I know it seems like I keep posting about plants and animals, but that's gonna change soon. This post is gonna be about a plant picture, but there'll be more varieties of shots coming up.
This hibiscus flower was shot at the Chinese Gardens in Singapore. It could have been shot anywhere else with a hibiscus plant, of course, but it so happened that I snapped this there.

On the prowl
Seeing Luke's latest post from the Bird Park, I feel obliged to match that with an animal picture of my own. It's a white tiger. Here he is!
This photo was taken in the Singapopre Zoological Gardens, or Singapore Zoo for short. It is, of course, within an enclosure. The zoo is quite a nice place to photograph animals as the animal enclosures do not look too man-made, so with bit of luck and composition, they may look natural.

Whatcha Lookin At.
This was taken at Singapore Jurong Bird Park and hmmm this Duck was probably posing for me, haha(: If i'm not wrong this is a female mandarin duck in the picture. Jurong Bird Park would be a real good place for you to take real close shots of birds without really needing a ZOOOOM lens. You can even enter a bird aviary where you can feed the birds, but be careful, a flying bird might take a poop on you :D

Huge spider
This large spider resides in the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve in Singapore. There are many others like this one, and some are really giants.
If you do visit Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, look out for more spiders like this one, montitor lizards, and possibly even an Estuarine crocodile, which are known to inhabit the area.

Zephyranthes sp.
This is one of my favorite flowers. It's of the Zephyranthes species, I think. I'm not too sure of the exact scientific name.
Should be either Zephyranthes grandiflora or rosea, but I can't be sure. Hmmmm... Anyway, there was a small patch of this plant in the Singapore Botanical Gardens. Beautiful flower, it is. Never expected that what's hidden under the soil is a bulb characteristic of plants in the Amaryllidaceae family.

First Post
Hello world! This is the first post in this blog, so I wanna start it off with a short introduction. I’m Marker, I started this blog with my friend Luke. This blog is a way for us to share our photographs and talk a little about them. If you’re interested, more information about us is located at our contributors’ profile.
Now, let’s get on to the main point of the blog: Photos. I'll start with this.
This is a photo of a dragonfly taken at the Singapore Botanical Gardens. It was sitting on the rope that enclosed the area around a statue. This red dragonfly’s color really made it stand out from the other brownish ones buzzing around the plants at the side.
